Alsahwa Net- The United States Pentagon said on Thursday that Iran continues smuggling arms to the Houthis militia in Yemen with no respect to the UN arms embargo on Yemen.
During a news conference, a spokesman for Central Command, Capt. Bill Urban, showed photos of the Iranian seized arms.
The seized shipment includes 150-antitank missiles that were intercepted by the American Navy in the Arabian Sea.
Captured crews of the two intercepted boats were Yemeni nationals, they were questioned and handed over to the Yemeni Coast Guard.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard is believed to be the body that supplies weapons to the Houthis in Yemen, according to Urban.
The reported captured weapons include sophisticated surface-to-air missiles that can down US military jets, according to the Central Command.
Signs and parts of the captured missiles are similar to the Iranian missile-system, according to US Central Command.
It added that captured weapon parts and missiles are also similar to the missiles that were used in the attacks against the Saudi oil installations in the past September.
